Product Description

Product Description

Aluminum expanded metal is a versatile and lightweight metal product formed by cutting and stretching a solid sheet of aluminum, creating a pattern of diamond-shaped openings. This process results in a material that combines high strength with low weight, making it ideal for a wide range of applications in construction, architecture, automotive, and industrial sectors.

Name	Expanded Mesh
Material	Commonly made from various metals such as steel, aluminum, stainless steel, or other alloys
Sheet Size	Standard sheet sizes range from 1.22 meters (4 feet) by 2.44 meters (8 feet) or larger
Thickness	The thickness of the metal sheet can vary, ranging from 0.5 mm (20 gauge) to 3.0 mm (11 gauge) or more
Strand Width	Refers to the width of the strands between the openings; can vary based on design
Opening Size	The size of the openings or diamond-shaped holes can range from small to large
Strand Type	Standard, flattened, or raised strands, which affect the appearance and strength
Surface Finish	The surface can be plain, painted, powder-coated, or treated for corrosion resistance
LWD and SWD	Length of the diamond (LWD) and short way of the diamond (SWD) dimensions specify the dimensions of the openings

Key Features of Aluminum Expanded Metal:

1. Lightweight and Strong: Aluminum is naturally light yet strong, providing a balance of strength and minimal weight, which is perfect for structures that need to reduce overall mass without sacrificing durability.

2. Corrosion Resistance: Due to the properties of aluminum, it is highly resistant to corrosion, making it suitable for use in outdoor environments, marine applications, and areas with high humidity.

3. Durability: Expanded metal maintains its structural integrity under various conditions, offering long-term performance and minimal maintenance requirements.

4. Versatility: The open mesh design allows for airflow, light transmission, and visibility, making it suitable for use in a wide range of design contexts, such as fencing, security barriers, ventilation panels, and decorative features.

5. Customizable: Aluminum expanded metal can be produced in various gauges, patterns, and sizes to suit specific project requirements. It can also be easily cut, bent, or shaped to fit particular designs.

Applications:

• Architectural Design: Used in facades, screens, and ceiling panels to create aesthetically pleasing patterns and functional solutions like shading and privacy.
• Industrial Use: Used in platforms, walkways, and stair treads where durability and safety are crucial.
• Automotive and Aerospace: Due to its lightweight properties, it's used in parts where weight reduction is essential without compromising strength.

Overall, aluminum expanded metal is a highly practical and aesthetic material that offers a balance of functionality, durability, and lightweight properties for a broad range of applications.
